FX Tennis Academy


The FX Tennis Academy High Performance Centre’s tennis training program caters to students from as young as 7 years old through to full time elite athletes attending American/Australian/International online school, or for those at the elite level attending a Sydney based school.

The FX Tennis Academy High Performance Centre (Southend, Five Dock and now Cintra Park) has been the training base for international professional tennis players on the WTA and ATP Tour for the last 10 years.

We follow a clearly defined long term athlete development model, individually adapted for each athlete, which balances their tennis aspirations with their academic lives.

The program is aimed at preparing young athletes for the future, without the risk of burnout or drop out from over training, and under stimulation. 

Daily Program (Monday through Friday)

  • 6:45am - 7:45am Private Tuition 
  • 7:45am - 10:30am Tennis Program
  • 10:30am - 11:30am Strength & Conditioning (Gym NOW ON-SITE @ Cintra Park)
  • 3:30pm - 5:30pm Private Tuition
  • 5:30pm - 8:00pm Tennis Program

(Saturday and Sunday)

  • 7:00am - 2:00pm Private Tuition 
  • 7:00am - 2:00pm Private Hitting

For students aspiring to compete on the professional ATP/WTA circuit or those pursuing a US College/Australian Tennis Scholarship, FX Tennis Academy offers the option to attend an on-line, American, or distance education schooling. We encourage these students to attend our full-time day-time tennis program. Alternatively, FX Tennis Academy has a collective collaboration with several local Sydney schools and information for those can be provided upon request.

Biomechanical Analysis

At FX Tennis Academy biomechanical analysis software, which provides instant, applicable and practical feedback, is available to all our elite athletes. 


FX Tennis Academy follows a Periodisation Training System (PTS)

Periodisation is one of the most important concepts in training and planning. The PTS for tennis athletes is divided into smaller training phases, making it easier to plan and manage. This ensures peak performance for competitions throughout the year. This method of training optimises abilities, which refers to structuring training phases to lead to the highest level of speed, strength, and endurance. The phases for tennis are technical, pre-competition, and competition.

Physical Development

Flexibility, stamina, speed, agility and strength are cohesively developed alongside tennis training at FX Tennis Academy.

Sport and exercise science methodology forms the basis of our physical development program with special attention devoted to windows of sensitivity.

The following is taken into consideration with each individual athlete:

  • Athlete's aspirations

  • Skill set (physical, technical, cognitive)

  • Chronological and biological age

  • Sensitive periods (windows of trainability)

  • Director discretion
